A Solid Foundation
The ground screw was invented by an Irishman, Alexander Mitchell, and first patented in 1833. This foundation technique would go on to be used extensively by the Victorians and bear the load of many iconic lighthouses, piers and structures in the UK.
Modern ground screws are designed and manufactured to fill the gap between standard screw fixings and large pilings – the gap where we continue to use concrete, simply because we always have.
Benefits
Ground screws offer a low carbon alternative to concrete based foundations that are not only better for the environment, they’re better for your pocket too.
